There is no such thing as "blessed" - we are simply lucky and fortunate that our particular parents brought us to a place where there is a better chance of success for a less stressful life. We shouldn't thank any god, we should thank our parents and luck - because the same god that "blessed" you - is letting an innocent kid suffer. Don't give credit to a god, give credit to the ones who actually do something for you - not some fairy tale lord who allows this fucked up world to remain how it is - for what?. If you want our happiness just help us be happy, that's all. Or at least help those who don't even have a chance.

2089. Alxjxndrx: This may go unnoticed but I can heavily relate to this video on so many levels. I went to DR in 2014 and the amount of poverty that is filled there is ridiculous. The hotel I stayed at there would have people selling cigars. And one guy approached me and didn't ask me for money, he asked me for FOOD. He was so hungry and famished that money didn't matter to him. So I told him to wait there and I got up went to the sports bar and filled my backpack full of all the food from the sports bar and gave it to him. I will never forget the expression on his face when he opened the backpack. The guy was almost about to start bawling his eyes out. Or when I also went to the dune buggy. There were kids asking for clean potable water bc the water they have wasn't clean so I gave them the water bottles I had that were given to me in the beginning. Another thing is the fact that the employees from the hotels are also living in facilities made by the hotel owners which have rooms full of 25 people bundled up sleeping waiting to walk God knows how many miles back to the hotel where they work. It was definitely an eye opening experience for me to not take things for granted or complain about things that I don't have.

We rode by our guide's village, homes were made of just lumber and corrugated metal, the toddlers didn't have on clothes. Me and my girl gave them all the money we had, bottled water that we brought along and cookies. No power or running water in these small villages outside the cities... It makes you appreciate all the material things that we have and even the basic things like being able to turn on a light in your house at night.... And these people still get up everyday and live their lives, not even thinking about being depressed or sad or feeling sorry for themselves.
