Here I use an insanely bright red LED to burn things without the aid of any focusing optics. This beast takes 8 amps to run at full power, producing several watts of output light.
Remember, this is not a laser! This is just an unfocused, but extremely powerful LED.
This LED came from one of the Casio projectors that we get the 1W+ blue laser diodes from. That projector is like a goodie bag to light freaks like me.
